Welcome family and Friends!

We are serving our second mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This time we are serving in Cebu City in the Philippines. We will be working in the new Cebu temple that was recently completed. This mission will be completely different than our first mission, with lots of new experiences. A different language is spoken here then was spoken in our other mission. Our first mission blog is still available to view. If you haven't seen it, let me know and I'll send you the link.

I have searched high and low to find a picture of the banana flower. Elder Ganir finally found one he could take a picture of. It is very rare to find

His cleaning is a success! Shining brighter in the sun!

This is the van that we couples can use to get around.

A closer view

Still working

Great flowers on the temple grounds.

We got back and they were still working to get to Moroni

Maybe a table?

Making something beautiful with a change saw

Working the pieces!

Look at this beautiful piece of wood!

Elder Ganir takes any opportunity to jump on a tricycle and pretend to be the driver!

Elder Ganir messing around with the local animals again!

Bye little island!

Load 'um up. This sand bar was not here when we first arrived. It is now low tide.

Boat is waiting

Time to say goodbye

Found another boat on the island.

A flower I have never seen before. Look closely, the orange is not a separate flower it is the beginning of the green leaf.

One last picture of trees in the water.

More trees in the water.

The far island is where we came from.

Some views off this island beach

I guess one can also rent a cabin to spend the night! No thank you!

We just arrived! It takes about a half an hour to walk around this island. It is very small.

Today we are off to Jomabo beach on a very small island off shore.

Last shot of prom night!

Don't forget me!

There was over a hundred girls and their dates.

They all like to pose for a picture.

When we came back to our hotel, we found the lobby full of beautiful girls. It was prom night for a local high school.

Just another view.

The lights turn on when its dark.

It really is amazing that something like this was built for a private residents in the PI pre WWII.

Very grand! Italian influence!

It was a magnificent building. A great place to have a wedding reception.

Here is an explaination of this place.

Next we went to the Ruins

An odd plant. It is called Mickey Mouse. Look closely at the shape of the yellow pod.

Of course Elder Ganir just had to jump in and help????

He is probably taking this to load onto a truck.

A little closer look! All still done by hand!

So, we had to stop to take pictures of the gathering of sugar cane.

Did you know that Oxcidental Negros PI supplies 60% of the US sugar cane, so we were told.
